Description

ONLINE TICKET SALES ENDS AT 8pm

As of 7pm we have 19 tickets left.

For those not taken tonight, they will be given out at 11:15am in the morning at the theater on a 1st come 1st serve basis.

We are pleased to present this unique screening of Cars 3 with special guest, Detroit's own Jay Shuster, character designer on Cars and College for Ceative Studies alum. Jay will speak about art and design as a career path targeting the children in the audience, and after the movie with take questions from the audience.

"JAY SHUSTER has worked on some of the world’s most beloved films, including Cars, WALL•E, and two of the Star Wars movies. On stage, Shuster shares his journey from childhood obsession with planes, trains, and automobiles to a career in design for Lucasfilm and now Pixar"

We are pleased to join Jay in presenting this event as a benefit for the art programs at Detroit-area public schools. Attendance is free, and includes a drink and popcorn - however we are requiring a donation of art supplies for each ticket (you can also choose to make a cash donation = 100% of the proceeds go to art programs, not the school in general). Because the seats are limited, we request that you ONLY order tickets if you can GUARANTEE to attend. Empty seats = less donations for the schools. Examples of items needed:

- Crayons

- Pencils

- Markers

- Art supplies

- Notebooks

We are also asking the children who will be attending to bring a picture they have drawn of their favorite Cars character, or design a new one so we can post their pictures in the lobby. There will also be a real red carpet for the children to walk and a backdrop for photos to commemorate the event.

For the parents we will have a special parking area set aside for those who come to the movie in a classic or special interest automobile.

Event schedule is as follows.

11:15am Theater opens and photos on the red carpet

12:00pm Introduction of Jay Shuster, and a few words about art and design as a career

12:15pm Movie Starts

2:15pm Q&A with Jay Shuster

3:00pm EVENT ENDS

Please note this event is not associated with Pixar or Disney. It is just a couple of guys who love Detroit and who believe in the A in STEAM - please support our efforts to keep the arts in public schools.
